* Sept. 21-27: 37th Annual Mayberry Days\u00ae<\/strong> in Mount Airy, N.C. Special Guests confirmed so far include The Dillards<\/strong> (featuring Rodney Dillard<\/strong>) in concert, Karen Knotts <\/strong>(daughter of Don) presenting her newest show, “Tied Up in Knotts…Untied,”<\/strong> and Bill Knotts<\/strong> (nephew of Don) with a presentation of his own. Also confirmed to attend are popular TAGS cast alums Keith Thibodeaux<\/strong> (Johnny Paul Jason), Joy Ellison <\/strong>(Effie Muggins, Mary Wiggins, et al), and Margaret Teele<\/strong> (Agnes Jean Parker).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first-time attendee this year is actress Kathy Garver<\/strong>, best known for playing Cissy on “Family Affair.” She also did the narration for the audio version of Becoming Thelma<\/em> Lou<\/em>, Betty Lynn’s posthumous memoir. Kathy is currently seen widely in commercials for ClearCaptions phones. And the festival is pleased to announce that returning this year are special guests Dan Roebuck<\/strong> (Cliff Lewis on “Matlock”), Laura Hagen<\/strong> (widow of Mayberry maestro Earle Hagen), and Dreama Denver <\/strong>(widow of Bob Denver).<\/p>\n\n\n

Tim White & Troublesome Hollow<\/strong> also returns with their popular mixture of comedy and bluegrass music, and  Michael Hoover<\/strong> reigns with his \u201cMemories of Elvis\u201d show featuring Denise Glass<\/strong> as Patsy Cline. Also scheduled are comedy by John Floyd<\/strong> (The Mouth of Mayberry) and John Riggle<\/strong> and concerts by Mayberry Melodies<\/strong>, Band of Oz<\/strong>, The Embers featuring Craig Woolard<\/strong>, <\/strong>and first-timers The Cleverlys <\/strong>and Too Much Sylvia<\/strong>. <\/p>\n\n\n

Neal Brower<\/strong><\/figcaption><\/figure>\n<\/div>\n\n\n

Neal Brower <\/strong>will be presenting his popular Professor Brower\u2019s Lecture<\/strong> on Saturday (plus he will offer an entirely different, bonus America 250-themed presentation about “Andy Discovers America” on Friday), and Randy Turner<\/strong> will be doing three different presentations during the week. Registration is also still open for the Mayberry Days Golf Tournament<\/strong>  (aka The Emmett<\/strong>). Additional Special Guests and other details TBA. * Nov. 13-14: Mayberry at Bluegrass Museum and Hall of Fame<\/strong> (Owensboro, Ky.) has been confirmed in celebration of Rodney Dillard’s<\/strong> donation of his musical collection to the museum. The plan is to have a concert at the Woodward Theatre (part of the museum) on Friday the 13th featuring a band with a Mayberry flavor, but that booking is still pending. On Saturday the 14th (10 a.m. – 5 p.m.), visitors will be able to tour the museum as several Mayberry tribute artists mingle with patrons among the exhibits. Rodney\u2019s concert will likely start at 7 p.m. with Mayberry tribute artists also participating. The details are still developing, and the event is not yet up on the Bluegrass Museum & Hall of Fame website<\/a> (www.bluegrasshall.org,)<\/a> but keep an eye out for it to be added when specifics are confirmed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

2027<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

*\u00a0Apr. 9 & 10: 7th Annual Mayberry-Lucy Festival<\/strong>\u00a0in Granville, Tenn., known as \u201cTennessee\u2019s Mayberry Town,” is in the planning stage, but, based on previous years, you can be assured it will be a wonderful event with shows, music, autographs, parade, cruise-in, Mayberry Squad Car Nationals Obstacle Course, and much more. There will be a special time to honor memory of our great friend Dennis Rush<\/strong> (Howie Pruitt) and much more will be announced as the time draws near. * June 4-6, 2027: Mayberry Comes to Scottsburg<\/strong> returns to Scottsburg, Ind., after a successful 2026 event. (NOTE:<\/strong> The dates for the event have moved forward in the month once again to avoid conflicting with a large festival held in an adjacent county that’s been going on for many years.<\/em>) This will be the fourth Mayberry comes to Scottsburg and the organizers hope you will make this an annual trip on your Mayberry calendar.
